In 2019, Visit Jersey asked Go To Places to organise and host a three day visit to Kent for Jersey attractions and businesses. The main objective of the visit was to provide insights into how the county is successfully extending their tourist season and how attractions in particular are diversifying into accommodation from high quality glamping to high quality accommodation in historic buildings.
Visits included senior management presentations and tours at Hever Castle, Hush Heath Winery, Canoe Wild, Dover Castle Tunnels, Folkestone Harbour Arm, Port Lympe Reserve, Leeds Castle and Copper Rivet Distillery.
The group also experienced a walking tour of Canterbury, talks on digital marketing, Discover England projects and a workshop on ‘story-telling.’ Go To Places made all the arrangements (excluding flights) and the project was delivered on budget.

“The trip hosted by the Go To Places team provided opportunities for our tourism partners to experience Kent’s year round tourism offer, draw on best practice and guide what good looks like. The Jersey team returned home inspired to further develop their products.” Meryl Laisney, Head of Product, Visit Jersey
